Georgia is on my mind. As you know, there will be two special elections on January 5. If we win both of them, Democrats will have control of the Senate. That means we can focus on the issues that matter to all of our families: COVID relief, Medicare for All, funding for high quality childhood education, and more.
We need to support the people in Georgia who are doing work on the ground to try to win these races, particularly Black voters, who have always been the backbone of the Democratic party. It was Black voters who delivered the state of Georgia for Joe Biden, and it's going to be Black voters who send Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff to Washington.

Let me tell you a little bit about these organizations and why they matter to me:
- The Black Male Voter Project is working to create a voter engagement program that will increase Black participation in the democratic process, with a special focus on Black men, whose voices are too often silenced in the political conversation.
- Black Voters Matter Fund is a group that works on voter registration and GOTV — critically important in the days before the voter registration deadline in Georgia on December 7 — and also advocates for policies to expand voting rights, because Black votes and voices are still being suppressed in this country and in the state of Georgia.
- The Georgia NAACP does so much critical work in the state, but right now they're running an effective statewide campaign to register and turn out Black voters ahead of these runoffs.
In order to win these Senate seats, Georgia will need record-shattering turnout of Black voters — but we know Georgia has historically been the epicenter of the voter suppression battle: purging voter rolls, closing polling places, and more.
