As Livable California gets ready for Dec. 7, when the legislature returns with bad bills that hand out rewards to profitable luxury developers and force cities to adopt high-density market-rate housing policies, we ask that you help us push back.
Please start by donating $50 each month to Livable California if you can. Please make your donation here. And if you would like to do a one-time donation, please do so here. We thank you so very much!
We’re up against huge money in Sacramento, where wealthy developers write their own bills. Millions of dollars flow to legislators from market-rate developers who had a fantastic 2020.
And you WON’T believe the latest: State Auditor Elaine M. Howle just released an audit that slams state officials who, from 2012 to 2017, blew $2.7B in funds that could have been used for affordable housing but weren’t spent by the required deadlines. The officials didn’t keep minutes of how they screwed up.
State Sen. Scott Wiener and many Bay Area legislators insist that market-rate housing is good for the poor.
Please join our teleconference Saturday, Nov. 28 at 10 am, to hear from an expert on the fables Sacramento spins.
And get involved right now, by donating $50 a month to Livable California, or whatever you feel you can. We operate on a shoe-string, against the wealthiest real estate investors in the U.S.
