Team, we came together and made history this election.
With help from grassroots supporters all over the country, we elected Joe Biden and Kamala Harris — and we broke records for representation in Congress!
The 117th Congress will have the most LGBTQ+ elected officials in history. It includes new faces like Mondaire Jones and Ritchie Torres, the first ever gay black men to serve in the House, and returning incumbents like my colleague Sharice Davids of Kansas.

As the first openly gay person of color elected to Congress, I’m so proud of my fellow trailblazers. Together, we will unite to defend equality, freedom to marry, and the right to love.
We’ve come a long way, but there’s more work to be done. With a conservative supermajority on the Supreme Court and an anti-LGBTQ+ President in office for another two months, we must stay vigilant and keep on fighting.
But with LGBTQ+ representation growing, I know we’re more prepared than ever to ensure equality. This is a major win.
Let’s celebrate this tremendous victory. Will you sign the card? https://marktakano.bsd.net/signthecard
Thank you. Now let’s keep going!
