I have always believed in order to keep our democracy strong, elected officials must remain engaged with all citizens. Whether it’s holding town forums, meeting with civic groups, visiting area businesses, or going to a local fish fry, I want to hear from the community.

 

That is why I am asking for your input today, friends.

 

The health and vitality of our regional economy will always be my first concern. That means standing up for our steelworkers and local businesses, and creating more opportunities for good-paying jobs and a growing economy.

 

After “Jobs and the Economy,” however, what is your top priority for our region?

 

As Congress reconvenes after the August recess, I want to make sure that I have your issues and concerns front-of-mind when we set the agenda for the upcoming fall session.

 

So, friends, please take a moment to let me know where you stand on these key issues as I head back to Washington this week.
