Our new project - we’ve set an initial launch goal of raising $20,000.

Indivisibles: “bird-dogging”

That may seem like a funny phrase, but it’s an important one -- in general, it means to watch something closely, or to seek it out.

In the political world, it refers to the practice of activists seeking out candidates to get answers to important questions. It’s a vital part of holding candidates accountable and making sure they can’t dodge their constituents when we’re facing real issues. Earlier this year, Indivisibles bird-dogged Elizabeth Warren, pressuring her to commit to naming a public school teacher as Secretary of Education -- and she later announced plans to do exactly that.

We know it’s effective, and we know our people do it well, which is why we’re launching a massive new bird-dogging program to hold candidates accountable. But we need your help to get it off the ground. Will you give $5 today to make an early investment in this new initiative and all of Indivisible Action’s work?

To make it happen, we’ll provide the supplies, training, and support that our bird-dogging Indivisibles need to be successful. With your help, we’re aiming to train thousands of Indivisibles across a dozen key states to bird-dog candidates and get answers to important questions. With this tactic, we’ll be able to get candidates on the record on issues like impeachment, healthcare, immigration, gun violence, and everything else facing our communities. (Watch out in the coming weeks for invitations to a training near you.)

But all these tools and trainings cost money -- from the supplies to help Indivisibles stand out, to the text message and email tools we use to communicate, to the hundreds of hours of policy research it takes to keep Indivisibles in the know about the latest issues. To make all that happen, we’ve set an initial launch goal of raising $20,000.

Together, we know we can get there. Will you chip in $5 right now to empower Indivisibles to get real answers from candidates and support all of Indivisible Action’s work?
