John,

An important breakthrough could be coming in the fight against COVID-19. Pfizer and Moderna have both developed potential vaccines against the virus that are in the final phases of clinical trials -- and effectiveness is said to be over 90%.

The results of these clinical trials are promising, and we have reason to be excited and hopeful for FDA approval. As chair of the House Energy and Commerce Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, Diana is ensuring that all safety and efficacy standards and precautions are being met -- and it's driven by science and data.

We need to protect this nation, and we need to do it as soon and safely as possible. A plan must be made and followed to ensure that the distribution of any vaccine is equitable and free of charge.

If you believe that the COVID-19 vaccine should be free and available to all in the general public, TAKE ACTION NOW.

Unlike the outgoing administration, the incoming Biden-Harris administration has proven time and again that they respect the scientific community. They have already assembled a team of experts who are more than capable of driving the efforts to combat the pandemic. And they have been vocal proponents of a national strategy to fight the pandemic.

But, we could lose an additional 70,000 American lives to this deadly virus before Joe and Kamala take the oath of office on January 20. We can't wait until the inauguration to take action.

Public trust in the vaccine will plummet if any efforts are made to turn the COVID-19 vaccine into a luxury. The COVID-19 vaccine can't be used as a tool to perpetuate inequality.

We need a transparent plan that puts people and public health over profit or partisan fighting. If you support equitable distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine, ADD YOUR NAME NOW!

Thank you,

Team DeGette
