Hi, John,
This election season has been a roller coaster of emotion. And, even though election day is over, the work in many places isn’t done. This is especially true in my home of Georgia, where the fate of two Senate seats is still up in the air.
Everyone has got Georgia on their minds. The power to build a Green New Deal future is in arm's reach. These races are important to me because I see what Georgia looks like. For too long, this state has been controlled by people who work with fossil fuel executives and lobbyists—not for the people of Georgia. But their power is crumbling and Georgia finally has a chance not only to contribute to the growing demand for a fair America and the Green New Deal, but to build political power toward a vision that is so much bigger than our state alone.
This is why we need you. Since these races are going to decide between kicking off decisive Green New Deal action in 2021 or two more years of waiting, corrupt politicians, fossil fuel executives, and lobbyists will put millions of dollars toward stopping us. We must build this people power in Georgia to stop them instead. We’re going to chat about Sunrise’s role in the Georgia races and more in a call tonight, at 8pm Eastern / 5pm Pacific. The next couple months are pretty crucial for the climate, for Georgia, and for the country in general. We’ve got a lot of work to do to make sure we can take bold and aggressive action to fight climate change at both a local and national level.
When I look forward into the future, I see a place for everyone. I see higher wages and green, efficient jobs. I see us finally taking sufficient action to reverse the effects of climate change, creating a plan that doesn’t leave anyone behind, and moving our economy toward a more sustainable future. It can be done and it starts here.
We’ve already accomplished so much together. Over a thousand people have already signed up for tonight to learn about what more we can achieve to win a Green New Deal and transform this country into one that works for all of us. Click here to save your spot and join us.
See you tonight,
Jordan, Sunrise Georgia
