John --
There are entirely too many lives at stake to allow 2019 to close out without a single new gun violence prevention measure being signed into law.
That's why as Congress reconvenes, Dwight's top priority will be to ensure that the plethora of gun safety bills that have been introduced this year are at the top of the list.
Survivors of this senseless violence should be able to access the resources they need to address the unique challenges they now face. That's why Dwight is spearheading the Resources for Victims of Gun Violence Act. This critical legislation will set-up an advisory council to gather and disseminate information about the resources, programs, and benefits that can help victims and their friends, families, and caregivers put their lives back together.
If you're with Dwight, sign this petition backing his plan to support survivors of gun violence today.
Approximately 100 people die every day in this country as a result of gun violence. And across party and demographic lines, Americans overwhelmingly support legislation like Red Flag laws that can prevent violence from happening.
From medical costs to legal fees to assistive technology and accessibility needs, we must support the survivors of this epidemic each and every step of the way in addition to making sure these sorts of atrocities never happen again.
Stand with survivors of gun violence today. Add your name to make sure Dwight's colleagues in Congress know who's side the people -- and not the gun lobby -- are on.
Thanks,
Michael
