We need a hard & honest conversation about the American Muslim community.

Dear John,
We've spent the past year listening and seeking council from community leaders on how we can better reflect a more inclusive face and experience of Muslims within MPAC and the Muslim community. This led to the formation of our African American Muslim Insight Council ([link removed][UNIQID]) which will advise MPAC on community engagement work that is relevant in today’s context for social justice. I'm excited to announce the first virtual discussion featuring council members on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 5:30 pm PT / 8:30 pm ET.

Here's a glimpse into what we will cover:
* How does the Quran help us understand and combat racism?
* Have recent protests against racism and bigotry changed anything?
* How can we present a more united Muslim voice?
Please RSVP ([link removed][UNIQID]) for this important, necessary (and free) conversation. I will be moderating this panel and invite you to ask questions using the hashtag #LetsBeHonest on social media or by replying to this email.
