Dear friends,
Now that the dust has settled, I wanted to briefly recap what we did this last year. I knew going into the race that Independent and third-party candidates face unlikely odds in any bid for elected office. This was especially true in as decisive an election as this one. Within that, though, we had an opportunity to do some really neat things -- like build a policy platform from the ground up, garner national media attention for one of our big ideas: The Truth and Reconciliation Caucus, and start conversations with interesting folks across the district and country. None of that, however, could have been possible without your financial support, words of encouragement and general excitement over what we were building. Thank you!
What's next? I plan to rest, enjoy the holidays, and resume some of these conversations in the new year. Texas continues to play an outsized role in the nation's politics and economy, and I believe Texans have the opportunity to lead the country in this new decade and beyond. Folks across Texas desire leaders who will emphasize solutions over our differences, and I hope I get to play a role in shaping those solutions and making sure leaders commit to bringing people together rather than dividing them.
Thanks again for the support! I hope that you stay healthy through these holidays and that you are blessed in the new year.
With gratitude,
Mark
