This month, we celebrate 30 years of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990.

John, I served on the House Energy Commerce Committee with the late Chairman John Dingell, and he told me clean air was "one of the most difficult, divisive, complex, costly, and important issues" we would ever have to confront.

Nevertheless, Congress sent the measure to President George H.W. Bush's desk with overwhelming bipartisan support.

The Clean Air Act Amendments were a huge step forward for environmental progress, but John, there is still so much work to be done to combat the existential crisis of climate change.

Here's the good news: President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are guided by science. They are committed to protecting clean air and taking meaningful climate action to protect our planet.

But there's a catch: They need the Senate Majority to do it, and control of the Senate will come down to Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock's runoff elections in Georgia on January 5th. If you are able, will you split a contribution between Jon and Rapahael's campaigns and mine today?

The evidence of climate change is all around us today just like it was 30 years ago: historic storms, floods, hurricanes, and wildfires.

Jon and Raphael recognize the serious threat of climate change and are committed to adopting clean energy, reducing carbon emissions; reversing the Trump Administration's reckless rollbacks of clean air and water protections; and combating the disproportionate impact climate change has on communities of color and Indigenous communities.

On the flipside, Jon's opponent, Sen. David Perdue, called climate change a hoax, and Raphael's opponent, Sen. Kelly Loeffler has expressed her complete support for President Trump and his Administration's dangerous, anti-science agenda.

The stakes for Georgia, our country, and our planet have never been higher. We have an opportunity to prioritize environmental justice, but John, we must flip the Senate. If you can, please split a contribution between Jon and Raphael's campaigns and mine today.

Thank you,

TC

P.S. Can't make a contribution today? That's OK -- there are other ways to get involved. Forward this email to five friends and help spread the word about these crucial Senate runoffs in Georgia.
