In 2008, President Barack Obama ran on a promise to provide healthcare for EVERY American. The hope of universal healthcare drove tens of millions of people to the polls.

Now--12 years later, following the breadcrumbs that is the ACA, we’ve seen what impact incrementalism has had on millions of us.

In April, a Hill-HarrisX poll showed that 69% of ALL voters support Medicare for All. The fact remains that universal healthcare will save our country trillions in out of pocket cost, and more importantly, save the lives of millions of Americans.

Right now, the majority of Americans pay for health insurance they can’t use because of inflated deductibles. Many families are faced with the choice of paying for housing or healthcare. Others remain without insurance, racking up crippling medical debt, or worse, forgoing critical medical care.

We have yet to see what will happen under a Biden Administration and we still don’t know who will have the majority in the Senate. Even so, in 2008, the Democrats held the House, Senate and the Presidency and didn’t pass healthcare for all. Instead, they bowed to the will of healthcare executives and drug companies.

To achieve Medicare for all, we must elect more progressive leaders to the House and Senate in 2022. This is why we are busy building our candidate recruitment team and an infrastructure ready to support our efforts this coming election cycle.
