Today is my 46th birthday. I'm thankful, as I was last year and will always be for the opportunity to work for the ideas and values you and I hold dear. And I have just one completely nerdy wish this year for a gift that I really need your help with: a Blue Virginia.
How can you help? What present would I really love? Give to my friend Wendy Gooditis whose race for delegate is right in the middle of the path we must take to win the Virginia legislature.

Why am I asking? A Blue Virginia means background checks, a living wage, the ERA, and climate change legislation. A Blue Virginia means the start to 2020 will be the story of Virginia starting the change that must sweep this country.
A Blue Virginia links our wishes together, just as it did last year when my friend Mary Detwiler hosted more than 20 people who surprised me with a letter writing party that I will never forget.

This year I am asking for a friend, Wendy Gooditis, who helped deliver Medicaid for over 300,000 Virginians and is now running for reelection. As my friend Delegate Rip Sullivan says, the road to a Democratic Majority runs right through Wendy's District.

Please give what you can for a cause I know is just and a race that will not be easy. Live outside VA? Do it for the tone this will set to remove Donald Trump. Live here? Become a champion, host, or co-host because this cause is just and critical. Give $46 to help buy a ticket for my birthday. (I'll cover the last $4.) Give $23 for a Young Dem (I'll cover the $2.)
I promise this party a week from Sunday will be one that you will be glad you came to. And it will be one that you will be even more proud you are a part of if do all we can and deliver a Blue Virginia in 48 days.
