It's no secret that President Trump (soon-to-be-former president) has used his position of power to evade the law on several occasions.

I've been fighting hard to hold him accountable since the beginning of his term — from his impeachment proceedings to oversight of his suspicious administration appointments and firings. Most recently, I've been focusing on investigations into Trump's misconduct and fraud regarding unlawful tax evasion.

While Trump has been trying to distract the public with his outrageous statements and election theatrics, the House is continuing to diligently pursue these allegations into his criminal activity. We are still in court fighting to obtain pertinent documents to build our strong case against him.

Following the election, I joined my colleagues in demanding that federal agencies preserve all necessary documentation requested so that we can continue to investigate the corruption of the Trump Administration even after they've vacated the White House. Nobody is above the law.
