NYC Policy Win:
Climate Mobilization Act Amendment Expands Compliance While Safeguarding Affordable Housing
One of the policies that Cecil Corbin-Mark and Sonal Jessel had been working on is Intro 1947, which would amend the Climate Mobilization Act (New York City's Local Law 97). This amendment, which the Mayor signed into law yesterday, expands the number of buildings required to comply with the City's groundbreaking emission reduction targets while protecting affordable housing residents from having the cost of compliance passed on to them by landlords. Jessel, who spoke at the Mayor's press conference, was featured in Bloomberg Law's coverage ([link removed]) of this New York City policy victory.
