John,
There’s now less than 50 days until Georgia’s two special runoff elections for the U.S. Senate. The results of these two elections will determine which party holds Senate control in the next Congress and whether or not we’ll be able to make progress on additional COVID relief, criminal justice reform, climate change, and much more.
Right now, local grassroots organizations like Fair Fight Action and The New Georgia Project Action Fund — both founded by Stacey Abrams — are working hard to mobilize volunteers and register voters. Both organizations have a proven track record of success with voter registration and turnout; they were responsible for registering over 800,000 new voters in Georgia ahead of the November 3rd election, and the state saw historic rates of turnout.
With less than 50 days to go to turn out every voter who showed up in this election for these runoff elections, we need to come together quickly to make sure both organizations have the resources to reach out to everyone they possibly can before the voter registration deadline on December 7th.
There's no doubt that this will be a tough runoff for both Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. The GOP is already pouring in hundreds of thousands of dollars into this race on attack ads and other shameful campaigning tactics.
Together, we can flip the Senate and continue to build progressive power in Congress.
In solidarity,
Team Bowman
