Friend,
Vice President-elect Kamala Harris is a firm believer in giving credit where it’s due:
We resoundingly agree with Kamala -- and Stacey Abrams is the epitome of this.
Because of Stacey Abrams’ leadership and initiative in registering hundreds of thousands of Georgia voters, 16 additional electoral votes were in play in 2020. This will continue into the next cycle, and the state may very well determine who controls the House, Senate, and White House for years to come.
But now, with the formerly safe state of Georgia now slipping away from the GOP, they’re only going to ramp up their dark money efforts to bring their supporters out of the woodwork. And we can’t forget that Brian Kemp remains governor, and he has shown time and again that he’s willing to use dirty voter suppression tricks to try and sway the outcome.
We are in a great position to fight back, but we can’t squander it -- otherwise, Stacey Abrams’ work may very well be in vain. As USA Today reports: Georgia’s “trending demographics [are] reason for optimism. The growth of Atlanta has attracted an increasingly educated workforce from other parts of the country, especially potential younger Asian, Black and Latino voters.”
