Every child deserves to grow up safe and have opportunities to thrive — but hundreds of millions of children are at risk of never reaching their development potential. When children, especially those under the age of 5, experience extreme poverty and devastating conditions like malnutrition, they risk missing early childhood development milestones and suffering long-term consequences.
UNICEF knows the value of early childhood development and is doing whatever it takes to provide children with a fair start in life and a chance for a better future. This week, as we celebrate World Children’s Day on November 20th, we need you to raise your voice to ensure the development of every child — please call on Congress now to pass the Global Child Thrive Act.

This bipartisan legislation will strengthen the implementation of early childhood development in U.S. foreign assistance. The bill will provide better policy coordination and greater support for early learning, cognitive and social programs for children. Yes, there are critical domestic issues at stake right now, but we can’t let those hold up progress for children around the world. Now that the House has passed this bill, we must push the Senate to pass it before their session closes at the end of the calendar year.
Friend, take action today by writing your Senators and demanding they pass this important piece of legislation for children and their development.
