[[link removed]]Defender,

In the final weeks of the Trump administration, the Interior Department is
rushing to sell off our natural resources as fast as possible - and they’re putting America’s endangered polar bears in grave danger.

The Interior Department just announced they’re calling for oil companies to buy
drilling rights on up to 1.5 million acres of the coastal plain of the Arctic
National Wildlife Refuge, in habitat that endangered polar bears need to
survive.

President-elect Biden has pledged to protect the Arctic wilderness and its
wildlife – but we need to stop the oil rush today, before there’s nothing left to protect!

The land that the Interior Department is trying to sell off in the Arctic Refuge
is home to one of the most endangered populations of polar bears in the world,
the Southern Beaufort Sea population.

These polar bears depend on the security of the habitat provided by the Arctic
Refuge, but only an estimated 900 bears in this population survive – less than
half as many bears as just twenty years ago.

The danger is clear: Big Oil’s invasion of the Arctic Refuge could deal a lethal blow to these bears
that are already struggling to survive.

We’re fighting for Arctic wildlife, and we need your help! Pitch in to help save
the wildlife who need us right now!

Defender, the last four years have seen unspeakable damage done to America’s wildlife and
wild places. And it’s entirely possible that the next 10 weeks will see some of
the most appalling acts of destruction yet.

Until the Arctic Refuge and its wild inhabitants are protected once and for all,
we need to pull out all the stops to keep them safe. Are you with us?

STOP THIS ADMINISTRATION’S SELL OUT TO BIG OIL

Thank you for all you do for America’s wildlife.

Sincerely,

Jamie Rappaport Clark
