Friend -- I'm proud of everyone who made their voice heard in the elections. Despite the deadly pandemic and widespread voter suppression efforts in gerrymandered states, voters turned out in record numbers.

I hope you took the time to celebrate some hard-earned victories. You deserve it. But I'm here to tell you: we have to get back to work.

We've built a movement for this moment -- to convert the energy of the elections of the past four years into grassroots power that can end gerrymandering.

During the 2010 elections, Republicans launched project REDMAP -- they targeted legislative races in swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Florida, and North Carolina in anticipation of redistricting.

After manipulating the maps in those states during the 2011 redistricting process, Republicans then took advantage of a weakened Voting Rights Act thanks to the Supreme Court's disastrous Shelby County decision and unleashed a wave of voter suppression laws. This year, we saw even more undemocratic decisions by gerrymandered legislatures when Republicans found new ways to institute obstacles to the ballot box during a public health emergency.

The last decade of targeted voter suppression efforts and gerrymandering has given an advantage to conservatives going into the 2021 redistricting process. In some states, our grassroots movement will be the last line of defense to achieving fair maps.

So I'm asking -- with just a few months until redistricting is underway in nearly all our target states -- can I count on you to make a donation and support our work?

The other side has been relentless in their pursuit to hijack our democracy, but we are entering the redistricting process in a stronger position than we did in 2011. We can win this fight. But we are up against a force that spent millions to manipulate the maps last time around. They are doing so again.
