Facebook: It’s a problem. It’s become a vehicle for disinformation campaigns and propaganda. It’s scary. And now it denies grassroots advocacy groups like us from reaching a wide audience and raising money from grassroots supporters across the country.

Facebook and Google have banned advertising related to politics and advocacy for at least a month. We rely on grassroots donations from sources including Facebook, so this ban means we need to make up that fundraising through our email program — with your help.

Facebook is a breeding ground for right-wing extremism that goes largely unchecked by the mega-corporation. It allows companies like Goldman Sachs and ExxonMobil to run ads spreading their own propaganda. But it bans advocacy groups like Justice Democrats from countering all of this and building a movement.
