Team, if only for a little while today, turn off cable news. Put away your phone, stop "doom scrolling" your twitter feed, and take a moment to reflect on how much we accomplished this year.

Because when you tune out all the noise, we have come a long way this year despite the setbacks.

In 2020, voters turned out in higher numbers than they have in more than 30 years -- here in the Lone Star state, hundreds of thousands of Texans cast their ballots for the first time to stand up for our communities.

Their voices, and this fight, matter.

We do this work because families deserve protection from unfair and inhumane immigration policies. Because climate change is happening and desperately needs to be addressed. Because everyone deserves a livable wage and affordable, comprehensive health care.

So we're going to get back to it, because while we didn't accomplish everything we set out to do this year, we're closer than ever before to realizing that better future.
