In this issue, we offer up lessons for students from grades 3-12 on the historic election of Kamala Harris as vice president, which has inspired girls of color in particular. Also, a lesson to help you and your students discuss election news and an SEL tip on one simple strategy for giving students a confidence boost. Indigenous Peoples Month Resources November is Indigenous Peoples Month (also known as Native American Heritage Month), an opportunity to learn about indigenous peoples' history, culture, and perspectives. New on TeachableMoment Dreaming Big: Kamala Harris & Us Students (grades 3-6) find out about Kamala Harris's background and her election as vice president - and reflect on their own dreams for the future. Kamala Harris: Standing on Shoulders Students (grades 6-12) reflect on and write about Kamala Harris and the continuing "fight to be heard," and hear the voices of young people about the barriers she has broken and what it means to them. Post-Election Reflection Students review and discuss the news that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been declared winners of the 2020 presidential election.
