Today, Congress announced ([link removed]) that it will hold it’s first-ever hearing on the Muslim ban next week, Tuesday, September 24th. Since the Supreme Court ruling in favor of Trump’s Muslim ban, we have been working on policy solutions to defund and rescind the ban, and make any future ban based on a faith community impossible.

It’s only with the support of people like you that we have been able all of this in just under a year. You can help continue our efforts to defeat this unjust and inhumane policy by making a gift today.

This landmark joint House Judiciary and Foreign Affairs Committee hearing is another step toward fulfilling our work and promise to you. This Muslim ban hearing will allow members of Congress to question the administration on the implementation of the ban and highlight the lack of transparency around the waiver process and ensures that the ban remains a Congressional priority. Representatives Zoe Lofgren and Ami Bera will be co-chairing this hearing.

We honored Rep. Lofgren for leading the charge against the Muslim Ban.

This year we’ve prioritized fighting for everyone suffering under the Muslim ban. Here is what we have accomplished so far:
* We have gotten legislation introduced in Congress that would rescind ([link removed]) the ban and amend the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), and defund ([link removed]) the ban.
* We hosted a congressional reception in which members of Congress joined us in support of efforts to rescind and defund the Muslim ban. Watch the highlights ([link removed]) .
* We convened a congressional briefing on the Muslim ban and had Rep. Zoe Lofgren address the audience about the importance of Congress holding Trump accountable for his discriminatory Muslim ban.
* We honored Rep. Zoe Lofgren, who will be chairing this hearing, at our Empowering Voices awards for her work ensuring that the Muslim ban remains a priority issue for Congress.
