Imagine if you didn't have a clean place to wash your hands. Access to safe, clean water is always important, but the COVID-19 pandemic made it even more of a necessity.
The Mozambique Initiative helps meet the greatest needs of partner communities in sub-Saharan Africa. Our partners in Mozambique shared their hope to supply hand-washing stations to all Methodists institutions across the country - hospitals, schools, church missions, orphanages, elderly centers and churches.
With the significant changes to Annual Conference this year, we missed the opportunity to take up an offering for our siblings in Christ in Mozambique. We’re asking YOU to consider making a gift towards the Mozambique Initiative’s Giving Tuesday campaign. This year Giving Tuesday is December 1.
Your donation towards hand-washing stations has an impact that extends past the need for clean water. Many schools and churches can’t safely resume activities until preventative hygiene measures are put into place. In Mozambique, these organizations are often central and essential to daily life.
It costs $400 to build a hand-washing station and provide supplies, such as disinfectants, soap, masks and temperature measurement devices. Mozambican manufacturers construct the hand-washing stations, so your donation has the added benefit of supporting the local economy.
