The Naloxone Finder is LIVE!

Check out our new national resource designed for people who use drugs to locate where they can get naloxone for free. We vetted each and every single program to ensure that naloxone is specifically for people who use drugs.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the project -- from the years of work to compile the information through relationship building to our team that stuck through the tech glitches to the programs who responded to our many emails! We’ll be following up soon with a blog post about the history of this project and what our vision is for the future.

“There are years of relationship building behind each of these points on the map -- our goal was to make this information public especially during COVID-19 to support people who use drugs to access naloxone from programs that we verified offer it for free and without hoops to jump through. Our commitment is to keep this as up to date as possible, easy for programs to share changes to their services, and to keep a direct (anonymous) line open between us and people who use drugs to let us know if there’s an issue with access so we can troubleshoot together” - Dr. Taeko Frost, Senior Director of Innovation & Strategy

Features of the Naloxone Finder include…

COVID-19 specific updates on requirements, hours, offerings, and any changes to procedures
Program specifics to prepare for your visit! We include types of distribution, locations, types of naloxone offered, social media accounts, and any other logistical details that will help someone who uses drugs access naloxone
Online applications for new programs to add themselves to the map that our team will review and update on a regular basis
Online request forms to update any information that’s out of date on the Naloxone Finder
Confidential submission form for people who use drugs to share logistical or social barriers to accessing resources at any of the sites on the Naloxone Finder - and we’ll follow up to be accountable to people who use drugs and support programs to become more accessible
The vast majority of these programs also offer syringes and other harm reduction materials so it’s a supplement to the NASEN map in case something on either map is out of date - we have included the “last updated information” specifically for that reason

And this is just our 1.0 version. If you’re excited about this and want to see the 2.0 version include an app, map out syringe access programs, and see something that resembles “The Yelp of Harm Reduction”, consider making a donation for us to bring that into reality.
