Friends,

If your inbox is anything like mine, it’s been packed to the brim with messages about Georgia’s two Senate runoff elections.

And for good reason: Right now, Georgia Democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff are facing off against their right-wing opponents in two races that will decide Senate control.

So today, we wanted to highlight the different ways you can support these two must-win races—from volunteering your time to investing in the kind of grassroots organizing that’s going to turn out voters across the state.

Thank you for doing all you can!

Who’s on the ballot?

Here’s the good news: Democrats have two phenomenal candidates in Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. Here’s what you need to know about each of them:

Raphael Warnock grew up in public housing in Savannah and was the first person in his family to graduate college. He now serves as the Senior Pastor at Martin Luther King Jr.’s Ebenezer Baptist Church and believes his service does not stop at the church door. He’s been a vocal advocate for the dignity of working people, expanding Medicaid, and restoring voting rights.

He’s running against unelected Senator Kelly Loeffler, who accepted the endorsement of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a QAnon supporter and conspiracy theorist. When other Republican leaders denounced Greene, Loeffler called her a “much needed voice” in Washington. Loeffler made waves earlier this year for a stock trading scandal, in which she sold millions of dollars worth of private stocks after receiving a closed-door briefing about the coronavirus pandemic.

Jon Ossoff, who was mentored by the late Congressman John Lewis, runs a business that investigates corruption, organized crime, and war crimes for international news organizations. His wife Alisha is an OBGYN doctor who has been on the front-lines of the pandemic—she contracted COVID-19 earlier this year while caring for patients in Georgia. Jon understands firsthand why it is vital that every American can afford the care they need.

He’s running against Sen. David Perdue, who has spent the last six years in Washington hiding from his constituents and avoiding the press; in fact, he’s refused to hold even a single town hall in his entire term. And now, he’s refusing to attend a debate before the runoff. Sen. Perdue has opposed economic relief for workers, and supported taking protections away from people with pre-existing conditions, even in the middle of this pandemic.

Important dates:

We have a lot of work to do in a very short period of time—voters begin heading to the polls on December 14.

November 18: Absentee ballots begin being mailed

December 7: Voter registration deadline

December 14: Early voting begins

January 5: Election Day

Our path to victory:

With the help of leaders like Stacey Abrams and grassroots organizers who have been working hard for more than a decade, Joe Biden turned Georgia blue for the first time since 1992. Momentum is on our side—here’s why we can win these runoff races:

The electorate is changing rapidly. No state in the country has seen a more dramatic demographic change in Georgia in recent years—the state is getting younger and more diverse every day.

Voter registration has skyrocketed in the state. There are 800,000 more Georgians registered to vote today than in 2018, when Stacey Abrams came within 55,000 votes of Governor Brian Kemp.

Georgia Dems are prepared for this fight. In Georgia, statewide runoffs favor candidates with the most robust and well-organized operations. Georgia Democrats were preparing for a runoff long before election day—the state has a robust volunteer operation and infrastructure ready to meet this moment.

Where you come in:

It’s all-hands-on-deck between today and January 5. We’ve got to do everything in our power to end Mitch McConnell’s tenure as Senate Majority Leader and elect Raphael and Jon. Here’s how you can get involved:

Donate to Raphael and Jon’s campaigns. They’re up against a mountain of outside spending, and need all the help they can get to keep their ads on the air, introduce themselves to Georgians and get out the vote.

Volunteer your time. Sign up to volunteer with Team Warnock here, and Team Ossoff here. You can also sign up to volunteer with Stacey Abram’s Fair Fight Action for the runoff here.

Georgians: Volunteer on the ground! With the recount underway, there’s an urgent need for canvass observers. You can sign up to observe the vote tally in locations throughout Georgia here. The New Georgia Project holds volunteer-run voter registration drives throughout the state: You can sign up to volunteer here. And you can volunteer in Georgia with Fair Fight by signing up here.
