Over 800 people showed up to welcome Jagmeet in Toronto for our campaign rally! People lined up around the block to hear Jagmeet speak about why he’s in it for us – and pump up the energy for Jagmeet and our Toronto candidates who are ready to take on the big polluters and mega corporations that have been making families pay the price for too long. Jagmeet was on fire in the first national leaders’ debate on Thursday night! Justin Trudeau didn’t even show up to defend his empty talk and broken promises – and Jagmeet called Scheer out again and again for putting the interests of the ultra-rich before everyday people. In Hamilton, Jagmeet sat down with Gina, a single mother who struggles to afford the medications she needs to live – even though she’s working hard and has support from her family. For people like Gina, Jagmeet’s plan to ask multi-millionaires to pay a little more will fund the services her and millions of Canadians need to stay alive. In Brampton, Jagmeet met with a long line of people who are still waiting for the health care they deserve. For decades, Liberal and Conservative governments have let the health care we rely on be stripped away.
