Senate Democrats are holding the Senate floor tonight demanding that Majority Leader Mitch McConnell call a vote on the House-passed universal background checks legislation. We cannot accept GOP delay or inaction while Americans continue to die from gun violence every day.
The Democratic House did their job—they passed a bill that requires background checks for every gun purchase in the United States. Now it’s time for the Senate to act. So we’re calling on Leader McConnell to stop standing in the way and bring this bill to the Senate floor for a vote.
