John,

There is no question: we must ban fracking and fracking infrastructure to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.

And while millions of Americans agree it’s time to ban fracking now, the corporate establishment in both major political parties has refused to acknowledge the necessity of keeping fossil fuels in the ground. Instead, they want more profit at whatever cost.

Our time is short to take decisive action to address the climate crisis. We need strong and immediate action by elected officials to move us toward a green energy future now! It’s time they listened to the people rather than their corporate backers. By working together, I know we can and will make this happen.

In the next 100 days, activists and volunteers will ask elected officials at every level to support a ban on fracking. And we’d love for you to be a part of the work.

Sign up now to help build the anti-fracking movement!

It’s up to us to change the politics of the climate crisis. One way we will do that is by organizing elected officials at every level of government — local, county, state, and federal — to adopt our demands and call for a ban on fracking. By building this broad support, we can hold President-elect Biden’s administration accountable to the promises he’s already made, and push him to be even bolder in the fight to protect our food, our water, and our climate.

Our winning strategy is to work directly with people, in their communities, to push forward real solutions. And our committed and caring volunteers are the heart of all of our work to protect our communities and the planet.

Hundreds of elected officials already support our goals, so volunteers like you just need to ask them to speak up. You are the best person to reach out to those who represent you, and we’ll provide training and materials to help you get started. Will you join us?

Over the past few years, Food & Water Action members have run successful campaigns to ban fracking in cities, states, and counties across the country. Because of our coalition building and grassroots organizing, this year we got not one — but two! — bills in Congress introduced to ban fracking nationwide. The Fracking Ban Act will ban fracking nationally, and the Future Generations Protection Act will stop fracking infrastructure and fossil fuel exports. And we’re not done yet.

Join us in the movement to ban fracking: Become a Food & Water Action volunteer today.
