Do you know an economist or tech expert?

We’re excited to launch the first cohort of the MOSAIC Economic Project ([link removed]) - an amazing opportunity for women, and particularly women of color, who are experts in economics and technology to leverage their accomplishments and make an impact in the public policy arena.
Despite the economy and technology being at the top of the list of policy priorities, the vast majority of expert witnesses are white and male. For example, Congress relies heavily on economists as expert witnesses –– over 11,000 times between 1945-2015. Yet women economists are woefully underrepresented in that equation.
We aim to change that, which is why we founded the MOSAIC Economic Project. It’s clear that if we want different policy outcomes we need more women with diverse perspectives and different lived experiences at the table.
So we encourage you to nominate ([link removed]) a friend, colleague, mentor, or even yourself for the first MOSAIC Cohort. The Changing Policy Workshop will take place remotely from December 2-3, 2020. The workshop will focus on the concrete steps that are needed to engage in the public policy debate, from elevating your message and brand, to engaging with Members of Congress, Hill staff, thought leaders and media figures. Upon completion of the Changing Policy Workshop, Cohort members will have access to one-on-one mentoring, research grants and opportunities, and be part of the network recommended as expert witnesses both on the Hill and in the media. All costs will be covered by MOSAIC thanks to our sponsors, including S&P Global and Google.
Who Should Apply?
Mosaic participants are a diverse cohort of women, with subject matter expertise in economics, finance, technology, telecom and corporate governance. Applicants should be well established in their careers – be it at a corporation, academic institution or NGO – and be looking for opportunities to grow their influence and positively impact change on critical issues, from the wealth gap to health care.
Please apply ([link removed]) today or for more information, contact Crystal Swann at . The deadline for applying is November 20, 2020 and applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
