Failed, impeached, bankrupt one-term president Donald Trump is doing everything he can to not only delegitimize the election results but obstruct and delay the transition of power to Joe Biden and his team in the White House.

While Trump's bitter ramblings might appear inconsequential, former White House chiefs of staff warn that "a delayed transition and the absence of cooperation between the outgoing and incoming administrations could hinder economic recovery, slow the distribution of a [coronavirus] vaccine and, God forbid, put American lives at risk" -- especially because history proves adversaries take advantage of our country during transitions.

In fact, the official 9/11 Commission Report found that George W. Bush's delayed transition as a result of the contested 2000 election "delayed his national security team and was a contributing factor to the September 11, 2001 terror attacks."

Trump's break from democratic tradition is not only ridiculous, it's dangerous. We've always known that Trump doesn't care about serving the American people, but it's about time that we demand this sore loser accepts defeat and finally acts like a president.
