the first person with Down syndrome to complete an IRONMAN!

Hey, did you hear the news?

Just a week after the world celebrated National Down Syndrome Awareness month, Chris Nikic shattered stereotypes to become the first person with Down syndrome to complete an IRONMAN.

Chris, a Special Olympics Florida Athlete, conquered a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 marathon run to complete the IRONMAN race in a total time of 16:46:09. Today we celebrate and honor Chris’ incredible achievement by sending him notes of congratulations. Will you join me in sending a note to Chris?

Send Chris Congratulations!

Chris is an amazing example, not only of grit and determination, but of potential in the face of adversity. “Having (Down syndrome) means I have to work harder than everyone else,” Chris said, “I've learned to work harder in (life), and that's helped me be ready for Ironman.”

Help us show Chris how much his achievement means for people everywhere with intellectual disabilities (ID). Send a cheer and congrats for a job well done!

With gratitude,
