Dear Jack,
I hope you and your family are doing well during these tough times. I'm sending weekly Bulletins so that you have all the latest updates you need.
Strengthened COVID Restrictions
As you may have heard, the rate of COVID-19 infections, hospitalizations, and deaths has shot up to alarming levels over the past weeks. While we are doing better here in Virginia than folks are in many other places, the Governor has amended Executive Order 63 and 67 to add some additional restrictions to curb the virus' spread:
1) Gatherings are limited to no more than 25 people. This applies only to social gatherings (including holiday celebrations), and does not affect schools, workplaces, or churches.
2) All individuals aged 5 and over must wear a mask inside public buildings.
3) Retail businesses must adhere to Department of Health guidelines regarding cleaning and social distancing.
4) All alcohol sales in bars and restaurants must end at 10pm.
These restrictions go into place at midnight tonight. You can read more information about the changes here.
I know we are all tired of this virus, and the restrictions on our lives that this pandemic has brought. However, right now is perhaps the worst possible time to let down our guard. The infection rate is far worse now than it was earlier in the pandemic, and we have to remain vigilant. Please make safe, responsible choices during this holiday season and limit your in-person celebrations.
