This year, an estimated 3.4 million Los Angeles voters cast their ballots by mail or at drop boxes across the county. And throughout the state, millions more voted by mail than ever before. For weeks now, we’ve known that processing all of these ballots would take time -- the latest count from the California Secretary of State shows nearly one million ballots still outstanding -- but there is nothing more fundamental to our democracy than ensuring that every voter’s voice is heard.
