PROTECTING OUR BORDERS
This week, the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Decisive returned home after seizing $20.3 million worth of cocaine and marijuana in southern Florida. On this 40 day mission, the crew interdicted nearly 900 pounds of cocaine and 2,735 pounds of marijuana.
I applaud their efforts, and look forward to seeing what they will continue accomplishing in the future.

WINGS OF GOLD
LTJG Connor Black, a graduate of Navarre High School, earned his Wings of Gold last weekend at Naval Air Station Whiting Field. Black was inspired to fly by his high school teacher, a retired Navy helicopter pilot.
It is because of the strength of our military community that we continue to turn out future leaders like LTJG Black. I am proud to represent a district so focused on defending the values that have made our country great.

Post-Trump Reforms Must Not Serve Partisan Interests
Even Rep. Matt Gaetz, a conservative Florida Republican, and liberal California Democratic Ro Khanna — who sit as far apart on the ideological spectrum as two members could get — can find agreement to these three ideas: ending gerrymandering, closing the revolving door, and enacting term limits. “Khanna-Gaetz. We could run on that and unite 80% of the country,” Gaetz says to a nodding Khanna in the recent HBO documentary, “The Swamp.” They’re right.
