Hi there,
There aren’t a lot of people in Congress like me. I’m a former White House fellow under President Obama, a first generation college student and community college graduate, lawyer, and former MMA fighter.
But most importantly, I’m giving Kansans a voice in Congress.
I decided to run for Congress because I was disheartened by who was representing Kansas in Washington. After the 2016 election, it was clear that our democracy was in danger and I knew I had to do something about it.
Since I got elected, I’ve been fighting for Kansans and all Americans in Washington. Whether it’s protecting health care access or restoring voting rights, I want to know what you want me fighting for. Take our Congressional Issues Survey today →
I’m honored to be the first openly LGBT Native American elected to Congress but representation shouldn’t stop there. We need more women, people of color, and people in the LGBT+ community running for office.
Seeing someone like me in Congress was uncommon. The people who were making decisions that affected the whole country, didn’t truly understand the lives of everyday Americans.
People like you and I absolutely need to be in the room where decisions are being made.
House Democrats (and the most diverse Congress ever) have already accomplished so much since winning the majority which is why I want to know:

Thank you for your support and I’m so glad you’re on our team.
