John,
Now that we know there will be an administration change in January, we need to jump into action to win back net neutrality.
Can you make an urgent donation right now to our net neutrality defense fund and help make sure this is a top priority for the Biden administration?
DONATE FOR
NET NEUTRALITY
Just to be clear—a Biden administration doesn’t mean this is going to be easy, which is why we’re getting to work immediately.
-
First, we’re advocating for a real champion of net neutrality and a free and open Internet to be nominated to chair the Federal Communications Commission. And we’re organizing to get Senate support to confirm our recommendation.
-
We also need to reactivate the hundreds of thousands of people who fought to defend net neutrality from Ajit Pai’s repeal in order to make this a top priority in the first 100 days of the Biden administration. Many of you never stopped fighting for net neutrality, but we need to ramp things up to remind Biden that 83% of voters support net neutrality.1
-
At the same time, telecom monopolies —like AT&T— will be stepping up their efforts to get weak legislation passed that will undermine net neutrality while claiming to protect it. We’ll need to counter those efforts, and may have opportunities to fight for good legislation that enshrines net neutrality in law and makes it even harder to mess with.
Chip in right now to say that you’re still fighting for net neutrality—heck, we know you never stopped!—and you’re committed to making this a top priority for the new administration!
We’ve seen how bad the repeal has been for our country, especially these past months while we’ve struggled through the pandemic. When Pai repealed net neutrality he made it so the FCC no longer had the authority to stop providers from shutting off Internet access.2 This has left millions of people vulnerable at a time when the Internet is a literal lifeline, providing access to lifesaving information, allowing kids to keep learning, and people to keep working while staying safe at home.
Ajit Pai and his repeal of net neutrality has been a total abomination. But now we have an opportunity to right these wrongs. Let’s get to work.
Together for the Internet,
Caitlin at Fight for the Future
