WEEK IN REVIEW
Dear Friend –
Over the last several months, I’ve continued to hear directly from Iowans about their need for additional assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why I’m continuing to push to ensure folks across our state and the nation receive additional relief during these challenging times.

I’m calling on Democrats to negotiate in good faith on a relief package to support Iowans – and all Americans – as we continue to fight this virus.
Here are some of the other highlights from this week:
Bringing Iowans’ Voices to the Table
My priority as your senator is to bring your voices to Washington. It’s why each year I complete my annual 99 County Tour and hear from and speak directly with Iowans from every corner of our state. As Vice Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, I’m proud to make sure Iowa always has a seat at the table; it’s been an honor to be a part of this team and to make sure Iowans’ ideas are heard. I’m grateful to my colleagues for re-electing me to continue serving as Vice Chairman.

The 2020 election cycle was a big win for Republican women. Both the House and Senate will add conservative women to their conferences, and I hope this will serve as an inspiration for young women across the country.
Honoring Our Veterans
This past Veterans Day, our nation came together once again to thank our veterans for their sacrifice and all that they have done to make and keep the United States of America the greatest, freest nation on the face of the planet.

As a combat veteran, and someone who wore those boots and commanded troops at home and abroad, I’m proud to continue my fight to ensure that our nation’s heroes are afforded the honor, care, and treatment they are due.

Supporting our nation’s veterans shouldn’t be controversial or partisan. During my time in the Senate, I’ve made it one of my top priorities to ensure our veterans are getting the quality care they’ve earned. And I’m proud to have worked hard, with Democrats and Republicans, to make that happen.
