Fellow Conservative,

Thank you for your continued support and for fighting for America. All eyes are on Georgia as we work toward a conservative victory in the January 5th runoff election.

Why is Georgia having a runoff election?

Georgia election law stipulates that a candidate for office must receive a majority of the vote to win. In other words, a vote-getter must receive at least “50 percent plus one vote” to win public office.

In the November 3rd election, no candidate in either Senate race received a majority of the vote, and so there will be a special runoff election on January 5th between the top two candidates in each Senate race.

Who are the candidates?

There are two Senate races in Georgia.

In one race, incumbent Republican Senator David Perdue is being challenged by Democrat candidate Jon Ossoff.

In the other race, incumbent Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler is being challenged by Democrat candidate Raphael Warnock.

Worth noting—Senators Perdue and Loeffler were the first two U.S. Senators to sign the Police Pledge, committing to “oppose any bill, resolution, or movement to defund the police.”

Why is this race receiving so much attention?

The future of our nation is on the line in Georgia.

The special election on January 5th will determine whether or not Chuck Schumer and his Liberal counterparts control the Senate… and potentially control the country.

Schumer has already made his intentions clear as to what he plans to do. Speaking at a Joe Biden rally in New York City, Schumer told his supporters, “Now we take Georgia, then we change the world.”

America cannot afford for the conservative agenda to lose in Georgia. With control of Congress, they would pack the Supreme Court, pass the radical Green New Deal, increase taxes, and allow our nation’s police departments to be defunded.

Voters care about the issues, and we’re going to remind them what’s at stake on January 5th.

That’s why we are making 1,000,000 phone calls, sending 500,000 GOTV texts, knocking on 500,000 doors, and working with our Sentinel activists to register voters and recruit poll workers.

Heritage Action Executive Director Jessica Anderson commented on these efforts this past week:

“The Georgia Senate seats are the Firewall of Freedom to hold the line against Chuck Schumer’s liberal agenda to rig the Senate to pack the courts, implement a radical Green New Deal, allow our police to be defunded, increase taxes, and expand Government. Georgians don’t want a Senate led by Chuck Schumer or his radical transformation for America; they want good jobs and safe cities to live and work in—exit polls last week showed that the top issue for Georgia voters on the Right was “the economy,” followed by “crime and safety.” These are connected issues; everyone suffers when cities defund the police and allow rioters and looters to tear apart businesses and neighborhoods.”

Problematic Women Podcast - Why Election 2020 Is a ‘Proud Lady Moment’ in History

“I think 2020 is the year of the woman, but for real this time. And I think the story has to go back to Justice Amy Coney Barrett as the first-ever female originalist now to sit on the Supreme Court. I think [Justice Barrett] paved the way for these strong, smart women who care about their country & their families to succeed. Following her are the 11 incumbent GOP House women that kept their seats & now 13 new women that were successful at the ballot box.”

One News Now - Voters reject left's extremism with conservative gains

While the presidential election results are being challenged in court, conservatives are celebrating other races. Jessica Anderson of Heritage Action for America, the politically active arm of The Heritage Foundation, says, “The most important thing that happened on Election Day is that the blue wave never materialized. "Many on the liberal left were talking about a complete takeover of the House, claiming even more Democratic Party seats, pushing back on the GOP majority in the Senate, and then obviously taking the White House," she continues. "But that tsunami from the left … just flat-out fizzled."

The Washington Times - Heritage mobilizing resources toward Georgia to lift incumbent GOP senators in run-off elections

Heritage Action executive director Jessica Anderson said her team’s activists are already on the ground in Georgia. “The Georgia Senate seats are the Firewall of Freedom to hold the line against [Sen.] Chuck Schumer’s liberal agenda to rig the Senate to pack the courts, implement a radical Green New Deal, allow our police to be defunded, increase taxes, and expand government,” Ms. Anderson said in a statement. “Georgians don’t want a Senate led by Chuck Schumer or his radical transformation for America; they want good jobs and safe cities to live and work in.”

Real Clear Politics - In Georgia Senate Runoffs, GOP Now Boosts Mail-In Voting

“Early voting and absentee ballots are going to happen. We can’t and shouldn’t stop people from doing it,” said Jessica Anderson, executive director of Heritage Action for America, the political arm of the conservative Heritage Foundation. “What we can do is talk to Republicans [in Georgia] about having a plan to vote.”

“The first wave of priority will be the [hundreds of thousands] of Georgia voters signed up to receive a mail-in ballot,” Anderson told RealClearPolitics. “We will be making the first rounds of door knocks for them and follow it up with text messages.”

Washington Times - Not just talk: How Congress can reduce health care premiums and improve access to care

If there’s one thing Americans agree on, it’s the need for change in our health care system. The pandemic has further exposed the need for reform to lower health care costs and make it easier to see the doctor of your choice.

Leaders on the left try to claim that only big-government solutions driven from Washington can achieve that goal. But their centerpiece law, the ironically named Affordable Care Act, has led to the opposite. According to Heritage Foundation research, costs went up and choices went down — while barriers went up between patients and the doctor of their choice.

While the headlines are filled with news of the drawn-out election, Heritage Action is looking forward and preparing to oppose any bad coronavirus relief legislation that Nancy Pelosi will try to push in the “lame duck” session of Congress.

Pelosi has already tried to pass a radical coronavirus relief bill earlier this year… to the tune of $3,000,000,000,000!

The bill included:

  • $915 billion in bailouts for state and local governments.
  • Interfering with states’ election rights by requiring states to adopt vote-by-mail and undermining voter ID standards.
  • Stimulus payments for illegal immigrants.
  • $50 million for environmental justice grants
  • An extension of the $600 bonus UI subsidy

The Left will stop at nothing—even using a global pandemic—to push their radical agenda. But Heritage Action will stand firm, opposing the radical Left’s attempts to transform our country.
