Donald Trump has issued us a warning: "The simple fact is this election is far from over."

"Our campaign will start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated," the president said on Monday.

Trump never promised a peaceful transition of power in the case of his defeat, so we shouldn't be surprised at his stubborn refusal to accept the truth: The American people have spoken, and they've chosen Joe Biden as the next president of the United States.

Despite their recent losses in Michigan and Georgia courts, the Trump campaign is going forward with lawsuits in other battleground states.

While these absurd legal battles reek of a loser's denial and could be tossed aside as Trump's last-ditch attempt to keep hold of his position, it'd be dangerous to downplay their potential effects. As The New York Times reports, Trump "has a powerful media ecosystem at his back, one that amplifies his statements and claims, no matter how false, to millions." If these lawsuits continue to get the airtime they're currently getting, they could foster widespread confusion and doubt as to the integrity of the election.

Joe Biden and his team are prepared to strike down Trump's attacks every step of the way. They're not going to let this wannabe-tyrant's tantrum interfere with the will of the American people. The only catch? Biden's team is going to need a LOT of support in order to do so. "These lawsuits are going to cost money. Some of it is pro bono legal work. But there are the filing fees, the service fees. You need money for all of that," Bay Area attorney Joe Cotchett said on Biden's recent Lawyers Committee call. He predicts that the "lawsuits will go on for perhaps a month. ...There are going to be individual lawsuits in each state, I guarantee you."
