Dear John,

AFGE's Y.O.U.N.G. Committee is proud to participate in an upcoming summit sponsored by Students Advocate Vital Engagement (S.A.V.E.) and the National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL). This virtual, two-day event is a Legislative Advocacy Summit on December 4-5, 2020, for approximately 100,000+ (youth and young adult) attendees.

We are excited to have our very own AFGE Y.O.U.N.G. Committee Co-Chairs Torre White and Kendrick Roberson as presenters at this virtual event.

The goal of the Summit is to engage young people at this critical and unique time in our society as we focus on social justice issues, civic engagement, COVID-19 exposed health disparities, and other important national and global issues affecting our youth.

Click here to register for this dynamic virtual summit.

The Summit will, through discussions with legislators, provide the attendees with an understanding of the legislative process, and opportunities to hear from celebrities, and community influencers on effective advocacy strategies.

Additionally, participants will attend various breakout sessions designed to share ideas to empower them to get engaged. Summit plans include a screening of Negative Exposure for all attendees that Friday night and a next-day plenary to discuss police and community reform advocacy with the film creator, student activists, and legislators.

We hope that you will register the young people in your life for this important learning opportunity.

In Solidarity,

David Mollett
AFGE District 5 National Vice President
