John, it’s official. Arizona has been called for Joe Biden, and Mark Kelly is about to become the junior senator from the Grand Canyon State.

This didn’t happen overnight. Arizonans didn’t just wake up and decide, “Gee, let’s vote for a Democratic president for the first time since 1996.”

No, this was a victory ten years in the making. A victory built on overwhelming Latinx turnout (fueled by your donations) and a decade of backbreaking work by Latinx activists and organizations.

A few numbers to show what we accomplished this year:

- A 35% increase in the Latinx early vote (compared to the 2016 presidential election)
- 70,000 new Latinx voters (half of whom were 18 to 39)
- 74% of Latinx voters between 18 and 29 backed Joe Biden (according to preliminary vote analysis)

Much of the activism that flipped AZ can be traced back to SB 1070, the racist, anti-immigrant “show me your papers” law passed in 2010. Latinx organizations like Voto Latino formed to mobilize communities against racist laws like SB 1070 -- and now, ten years later, we’re seeing the results of those efforts.

Our communities represent the diverse future of America, and Voto Latino is immensely proud to help shape that future.

We couldn’t have done it without you. So, thank you, John. Your support helped deliver Arizona’s 11 electoral votes to Joe Biden and helped elect Mark Kelly, a senator who’ll fight for our communities.

But the work continues. In Georgia, both Senate races have gone to a January 5th runoff -- which will decide the Senate majority.

We only have until December 7th to register as many Georgians as possible.
