John,
I've said this before, and I'm honored to say it again: Thank you for your unfailing support. You've made it possible for me to continue to serve as the People's Attorney for Oregon. This role requires both special attention to the legal needs of the most vulnerable Oregonians, as well as providing the Gold Standard of legal service to our state and all of its people. I will keep doing both -- with gusto!

I also want to offer you assurances that Joe Biden will take the oath of office as President of the United States on January 20, 2021, and Kamala Harris (with whom I had the pleasure of working alongside when she was California AG), will be Vice President. As you know, the current president thrives on chaos and disinformation. His ego prevents him from conceding an election where Biden currently leads by over 5 million votes and has clearly won the Electoral College. This refusal by Trump is enabled by a cynical and surprisingly large circle.

Still, do not let the lies, bluster and obstruction coming out of the White House and its sycophants make you too anxious. My AG colleagues across the country and I have stopped this president before, and we are now engaged in protecting the accurate election results reported in states across the country. We remain the first line of defense against this lawless administration.

At the same time, we have urgent problems to deal with as a state and a nation-- and no time to waste. There's a pandemic raging out of control. There's the complicated aftermath of this fall's wildfires. There's an economy to put back together. And there's racial justice to achieve. I will be working to do my part on all of these fronts.

Luckily, there are people like you to keep American democracy alive. Even with the results of this election in hand, we all have our work cut out for us.

I'm truly blessed to have your support -- and genuinely appreciate your continuing efforts to make Oregon and America better in the years to come.
