Update on our National #RespectTheVote Campaign
No Labels’ Respect the Vote is a non-partisan call to action, that launched before there was projected winner, and a reminder of what we, as a people, have done for 240+ years. Joe Biden has been declared by several outlets as the president-elect. But there are still legal cases and recounts pending in several states, which is not at all unusual after an election. Our campaign encourages all to be patient, let the process work and in the end, do what we as a people have always done.

Check out our new campaign: #RespectTheVote

This moment—right now—is why No Labels exists. The votes are being counted and No Labels is doing our part to make sure we all hang together.

Throughout our history— through wars, depressions, and previous pandemics—America has always had elections and respected the results. As Senator Manchin says in the ad “If we lose that, we lose everything.”

Opinion: Why Susan Collins Won
By Margaret White, No Labels Co-executive Director

"According to the pundits, Sen. Susan Collin (R-Maine) had no business running for reelection this year, let alone winning the race. In a country as polarized as ours, moderates seemed sure to go the way of the dinosaurs. Collins was the last Republican in New England running for reelection at a time when polling suggested President Trump was deeply unpopular throughout the Northeast. For most of the campaign, as polling showed her well behind, Washington wrote her off entirely.

And then she won."

Opinion: Where Biden and McConnell Can Agree
By Bill Gallston, No Labels Co-founder

"It is usually difficult to discern the meaning of a national election, and 2020 is no exception. It was a defeat for Donald Trump but a victory for the Republican Party, which turned back most challenges to incumbent senators, fought off Democratic efforts to flip state legislatures, and made gains in the House. The American people have voted for divided government and a less divisive tone in national politics."

Editorial: Who's ready for some bipartisanship in D.C.? We can dream.

"If you’re wondering why Congress seems to accomplish so little, here’s a recap to get you steamed but in the end provides a scintilla of hope: Months ago, with COVID-19 raging, House Democrats passed a second aid package to send to states and local governments, this one totaling a very expensive $3 trillion. The Dems meant for it to be an opening bid; they came back with a $2.2 trillion version. Senate Republicans had countered with a $1 trillion offer, later reduced to a smaller, simpler version that Democrats blocked."
