The 2020 election has been called by major news outlets, and a Biden-Harris administration offers new hope for progress on a wide range of important issues. Not least of them is the urgent need to make federal climate action a cornerstone priority.
But in politics, presidential leadership is not enough to secure bold and lasting progress. Just as they did during the Obama and Trump terms, powerful special interests will stand against us.
As engaged and determined advocates, we must stay engaged to spur action.
You can help. Please send the Biden-Harris transition team a message letting them know you support their commitment to make bold climate action a top priority.
The Biden-Harris campaign ran on the most ambitious climate action agenda of any major party in U.S. history. Its goals are to “achieve a 100% clean energy economy and net-zero emissions no later than 2050.” They also pledged to rejoin the Paris climate agreement and hold polluters accountable for the damage they’ve caused in our communities.
This is a bold, exciting vision — one that, if implemented, would slash pollution and help build a safe, fair, and just clean energy future.
But even with leadership from the Biden-Harris administration, it’s up to us to provide grassroots support as a counterweight to the entrenched special interests that are clinging to the dirty energy of the past that disproportionately harms Black, Latino, and other communities of color.
Please take action today to share your support for the Biden-Harris climate and clean energy agenda.
Together, we will seize this historic opportunity to make progress.
Thank you for your support and activism,
