A Green New Deal would have made the pandemic significantly easier to contain and would have established a more resilient healthcare system. As AOC further explains, there shouldn’t have been a PPE shortage as “the Defense Production Act is designed for the government to mass mobilize industries to produce for the security of the American public.”
She’s right: Our country has suffered for far too long without comprehensive progressive legislation to combat this crisis, and now there are nearly a quarter of a million lives lost that can quantify this devastation.
But there are STILL too many people who reject the sweeping reform we so desperately need -- instead they champion a so-called incremental solution.
Friend -- you know that we don’t have time for that. We can’t postpone stopping climate change any further -- it’s already too late as it is.
