Weekly travel update in Nottingham 13 November - 20 November
Walking and Cycling
If you need to make a journey we encourage you to walk or cycle where possible. This will allow you to practise social distancing while you travel and minimise contact with others, helping to stop the spread of Covid-19.
Walking and cycling is good for mental health and can help us all to deal with the pandemic - plus riding for transport frees up space on public transport for those key workers who can’t travel by bike.
Active Travel Fund
Nottingham City Council has today been awarded a further £2m from the Government to spend on measures that make walking and cycling easier. This will allow us to build on and improve our existing trial measures, and explore some new ones. Find out more about our proposals here.
Free webinars for safer winter cycling
As we head into winter we know the darker nights and weather can make the thought of hopping on a bike less appealing – but it doesn’t need to be that way!
As part of our ongoing commitment to support cycling, we are organising a series of free lunchtime webinars in partnership with Ridewise, Sustrans, British Cycling and Love to Ride on a range of bike-related topics.
The first webinar, taking place next week during Road Safety Week, focuses on winter cycling tips. For more information visit our website.
