Washington D.C. - Today, the House finally confirmed the historic hearing on President Trump's Muslim Ban - scheduled for Tuesday, September 24th, at 10am EST. This will be a joint hearing with the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration and Citizenship and Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. The hearing will highlight the NO BAN Act, a bill introduced by Representative Judy Chu and Senator Chris Coons, aimed at repealing the Muslim Ban and preventing any future presidents from enacting such bigoted bans and policies.
“As one of the defining moments for Muslim Americans over the last few years, the Muslim Ban has been the source of unnecessary hardship for hundreds of parents, children, and families that have been separated from their loved ones. While we are grateful to Representatives Ami Bera and Zoe Lofgren for chairing this hearing, we would like to call out the remaining 89 House Dems to sponsor the NO BAN Act and support the Muslim Ban hearing. We also call on the presiding House Committees to ensure the hearing be definitive, precise, and effective in addressing the suffering innocents have endured by this bigoted policy." - Wa’el Alzayat, Emgage CEO
