Young Voices film & photography competition
This is a call to young people and youth organisations to create a photograph or a film that portrays their experience of youth participation. Covid-19: guidance for youth services
We continue to work with the officials in the Department to revise the guidance in response to any new restrictions and will continue to update the Guidance for Youth Organisations on Resuming Full Services.
We will also update the official DCEDIY/NYCI Covid Induction for Youth Services to reflect any changes.

Bí Tusa - Be Bold, Be Proud, Be You
Youth Work Ireland is thrilled to launch a new resource to support and promote the understanding of issues facing young LGBTI+ people in Ireland today. The Bí Tusa resource will build on the brilliant work already taking place in Youth Work Ireland LGBTI+ & ally groups around the country. It will support professionals, communities, and parents to become more educated on the issues facing young LGBTI+ people so we can all play our part in being advocates for young LGBTI+ people. JCI Ireland will be hosting the annual JCI Ireland National Convention from November 13-15. The convention will be hosted online with a wide range of excellent keynotes, training activities, networking, and social events taking place over the weekend. BeLonG To Youth Services is the national organisation supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex young people in Ireland. Youth Theatre @ 40: A Youth Theatre Practice Symposium
This Friday, November 20th and Saturday, November 21st join Youth Theatre Ireland to celebrate youth theatre practice and explore the resilience of the youth theatre community in this extraordinary year. Irish Girl Guides continue to engage with youth members
Irish Girl Guides’ volunteers are continuing to find creative ways to engage with their youth members from age 5-30. Some units are meeting up for hikes, litter picks, scavenger hunts, cookouts, and other outdoor activities while others have adapted to regular online meetings. Others keep in touch via WhatsApp and deliver activity packs to girls’ homes. Hundreds of girls took part in a Halloween Camp At Home, which saw them playing all sorts of spooky games. Free online workshop: How to set up a film club for/with young people
Join the National Network for Young Filmmakers & Animators (NYFA) for a free, online 3-hour workshop on setting up a youth film club. This workshop targets veteran and novice creative directors, youth workers, teachers, and youth arts facilitators. ECO-UNESCO's work highlighted in the Dáil
On Tuesday, October 20, Minister Roderic O'Gorman highlighted ECO-UNESCO’s youth work in the Dáil. ECO-UNESCO staff and young people met the Minister via a Zoom call as part of the initiative #Budget2021 and #YouthWorkChangesLives the NYCI campaign. ECO-UNESCO’s young people highlighted how their engagement in ECO-UNESCO’s programmes have impacted lives by building their confidence, expanding their social circles, improving their understanding of the natural environment, and providing a space to meet like-minded young people.

Covid-19 small grant scheme for youth clubs and services
Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O’Gorman TD, has approved a grant to youth clubs and services as a contribution towards some of the additional costs arising from COVID-19 restrictions. More here >>
UCD mental health surveys
Your Youth Health Project - Mental Health during Covid-19 is a research collaboration by the UCD School of Psychology and the Children and Young People's Service Committee, funded by Health Ireland. It is investigating the impact of the pandemic on young people's mental health and wellbeing. They are surveying the parents/guardians of young people aged 12-18 and young people aged 18-25 >>

Free STEAM & Sound Production Programme
As part of Science Gallery Dublin's PLASTIC exhibition, youth workers can avail of a free STEAM and sound production programme that comes ready to use in your youth work or education project. You are invited, with your youth group, to take part in the co-creation of a sound installation that will be exhibited in the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny from the end of this week until December.
